Default Rough day on Chesapeake Bay video; 36' Dakota

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IXtPxOUN-c

A couple threads have asked how the Dakota's ride. This should go for the Marlin, Marlago, Palmetto's as well.

This was taken in November coming across the bay from the Eastern Shore. Winds were following as well as the seas. There was a small craft advisory with around 30 mph winds. We are traveling around 30 mph. The waves at this point were bouncing off Pt. Lookout about 6 miles ahead causing them to stack up unusually.

Dakota's ... Marlin, Marlago, Palmetto's as well.
i knew about marlin and marlago using the same hull. was not aware of dakota and palmetto using it as well. just a quick search on line and it seems both dakota and palmetto call it a 36 vs. 35...is that just marketing or did they actually make changes to the design?

anyone know more about the connection of these builders and that 35 hull?

btw, potomacsouth - what do you run on your dakota? motors and props?

You're right they do call it a 36. I don't know for sure if they are an exact copy. I think they claim 36 just to sound bigger. The documents on the vessel state 35'. I have 250 E-TEC's with Mirage Plus 19's. I may experiment with some other props this year.

Why do certain vids, like this one, stop and start continuously?
