Yes , I bought a boat from them a while back.I bought a brand new Donzi that was repossessed from a dealer that went out of business. You will need a survey done on any boat you buy. They give you a general description of the boat on their website. Some are great deals, others are not.

Make sure you have everything in writing as to what the boat comes with and inspect it upon taking delivery. I made that mistake as they gave me the wrong prop with the boat and I ended up purchasing another one myself.

I have noticed that since the economice downturn their bank asking prices have come down and are more aggressive. Before that I thought in alot of cases their prices were high. Then again the economy was good and their inventory was low and people were in good financial shape.

Email me with any further questions. -Cooker

Great place -
My parents bought their boat there and so did a buddy of mine -

As mentioned you will need to get a survey -
Look the boat over carefully as it could be missing things (typical with repossesions)
Good luck!

My cousin picked up a boat there. They look to close the deal fast. If you put in a bid, be prepared to leave 10% on the spot. We got a call from them with the banks acceptance of the bid on the drive home. He had but a few weeks to get the boat financed , inspected and out of there. They didn't complete all the work they agreed to in contract, missed a number of smaller issues, but it was a great deal none the less.

Make sure you higher your own reputable surveyor. Do not use someone they recommend.

Besides dealing with repossed boats, they also deal with salvage boats so be sure you know what your getting into before you put down a deposit.

I went down there in the fall to look at a boat that I found on their website. Took an hour or so looking at the boat and decided it would be worth it to have it surveyed. Went inside to talk to the salesman and found out the "minimum bid" had increased by about 30%! Ouch. I understand how their business works and all, with the bank owning the boat, but their original price was 30% off? No survey/no offer, not on that one anyway. Seems like they have replaced the "minimum bid" with "asking price" now on the website - I wonder what that's all about... Maybe they've firmed up on the published numbers, that would have saved me some time!

Probably more the banks fault than the yard's. I still do look at their inventory and wouldn't hesitate going back for the right boat. We stayed in Mystic and had a great night anyway. I cant remember the place we had dinner but it had drawings of monkeys all over the place, food was good, drinks were better.

I spoke to another guy while I was on the lot that said he had bought 2 boats there and was looking at another for his 3rd. Must speak something...

I went there today to see what they had. Had a few decent boats. I was really there to see the 06 Fountain 33 SFC.
When I spoke to the salesman earlier in the week, he told me the boat was in good shape and the hull only had one or two scratches. I could tell from the pictures on their site that it was sitting outside uncovered for awhile but man, a few scratches was more like the boat needs a complete paint job. I never seen a boats bow (port side) scratched up so much. It almost looked like a tree was rubbing up against it for a week. The salesman told me most would come out with a little compound. I love that line. When someone tells me that, I know they are complete jackasses. I used to be in the auto body business 20 years ago. The transom fish well had a crack in the bottom, and almost all the combing pads had pink stains on them. Looked like antifreeze. Can't figure that one out. Curtain enclosures had missing snaps and tears. Boat needed about 7-8 grand in repairs not including what it would cost to paint the hull.

Does anyone have a good estimate on a price to re gel-coat a 33 foot boat with a 10' 7'' beam? I would have to get a price on that before I would make an offer and see if its worth all the hassle.

If I can get it done right and for a good price, oceanlure; I may take you up and a request for a good surveyor.

Sounds like a lot of work. Is it really worth it? The pink on the combing pads is a form of mold.

When I picked up my boat in May one of the owners told me that he was pressing the banks to be more flexible on pricing so the boats would move better. That was before the economy really tanked, so I would think that the banks would be more flexible now, but you never know with banks.

Lots of repo'd boats will be in bad condition. It's the nature of the beast. I was very lucky with mine. After my uncle and I looked it over for a couple of hours we couldn't find a scratch, it had very low hours, and you could eat off the engine. I put a deposit on it right away. I went back and forth with the bank for about 2 weeks on price.

I looked at this boat on their web site. Is the gray hull from the factory? It looks like it was painted over the gellcoat. Was the boat previously damaged and repainted to cover it up? The cracking in the livewells could have been caused by ice, if the bilge filled up with water and froze there could be some serious damage down below. The problem with a repo is you end up with a lot more questions than answers. If you find a real clean unit its probably worth a shot for a repo but this one looks like a serious project. 160K, I'd run from that one. There are tons of deals out there on some real nice boats, that kind of money will get you a much cleaner boat.

gf,

It is a lot of work. Not sure it would be worth all the effort. I was wondering what that pink was. Can it be removed?

bms1939,

Yes its the Gray hull boat. The paint on the hull over the Gray Gel-coat is white bottom paint. IT was done very poorly. The Livewell has a crack at the bottom with glass missing. Its about the size of 2 quarters. Good advise about looking for a better deal. I would have to buy this one for about $105K for it to be worth it.

I have found a new 2008 with 300 Verados that I can get for $175K. I do not want to go that high, but it may be my next boat.
