I CAN'T BELIEVE WE'RE ALMOST THERE!!!!!?????
Just wanted to get this up here and started as a "final" post/thread for our upcoming Tourney - May 20-23! It's been a LONG haul - I think we started posting about this in OCTOBER, and we've got to make a believer out of WILEY by showing him it's ACTUALLY gonna' HAPPEN!!!!!
We've had GREAT response from THT vendors/sponsers, as well as members who are GENEROUSLY donating a LOT of "goodies" - my sincere "thanks" to them again for their participation!!!
From here on out, PLEASE use THIS post/thread for info and ANY questions you may have regarding this event! The "other" related posts are getting a little "big", but I will search them out and try to get them as close to the top as possible!
We're getting "down to the wire" with plans for what should be a GREAT event and it is VERY IMPORTANT that we get all the FISH in a row regarding FORMS, BOATS, CREWS, CAPTAIN'S MEETING, AWARD'S DINNER, etc.!
AUGUSTE will be VERY busy with some business-related work towards the end of this month and early May, before he makes the trip down, so PLEASE respond to our requests in a timely manner! PAUL (REEL OBSESSION) and I will try to answer anything we can into early May, when AUGUSTE is "in transit".
Over the weekend, I will be putting up a "list" HERE of WHAT we still need in the way of information, as well as WHO is "confirmed" and WHO is still a "maybe". I will ALSO, at some point be CALLING some of you for "confirmation"!
EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALREADY "CONFIRMED" AND SENT IN YOUR "FORM", WE STILL NEED ANOTHER "CONFIRMATION" FROM YOU AS WE GET CLOSER!!! We also have to have AT LEAST 10 or more folks for the restaurant to "hold" the Award's Dinner room!
I'll go over these things again in the next few days and try to get them all in ONE post on THIS thread!

Bruce and Auguste thank you for all the hard work putting this together. It looks like things are not linning up for me to go to the event. My 1 week trip, the 1st week of June, is now a 2 week trip starting the last week in may. Between my job and the timming of all the folks I fish with dont line up with the mid may time frame. Too much going on and too soon to my 2 week trip. Sorry but maybe next year. I hope it all goes well and good luck to all.
Next year look at Hatteras around the 1st week of June!!!! Everything is bitting then 25 mile runs to blue water big cobias off the beach never have to drive your truck more then a mile for anything all could run from the same place

Well, we're getting CLOSE, and I wanted to put this up to REconfirm attendence!!!!! I don't want to be doing it on May 19th!!!!!
Hotel/motel reservations are probably in VERY short supply at this point, so if you haven't made them already, you should do it NOW!!!
Even if you've ALREADY sent in your Information Form, we need to RECONFIRM - you can just respond as "FORM SENT", and I'll verify that I have received it!
If you HAVEN'T sent in a Form, we NEED one ASAP - you can e-mail AUGUSTE or ME and we'll e-mail you one if you haven't already received it. When you complete the Form and e-mail it back, PLEASE send it to ME, with a copy to AUGUSTE!!!!!
Please remember that AUGUSTE will NOT be available the second week or so in May, as he will be en route to the Outer Banks (arriving May 14), and getting his boat ready/rigged. I will be the contact during that period.
There are still a number of "maybes" out there and we want EVERYONE that is interested to have the opportunity to come and join us in the fun!
We need the following info from EVERYONE:
1) WHO'S coming?
2) WHO'S bringing a BOAT? And HOW MANY are coming WITH you - we need this info so we can assign CREW to your boat! We ALSO need to know HOW MANY ADDITIONAL crew you can take (not counting others in your party that are coming and already fishing with you!) - without OVERLOADING your boat!
3) WHO'S going to CREW ONLY?
4) WHICH DAYS you're FISHING?
5) HOW MANY in your party (even if you are coming by yourself) will be attending the Award's Dinner on Saturday, May 22? I MUST give a "number" to Kelly's Restaurant BY MAY 10th - we MUST have AT LEAST 10-15 people to reserve the room!!! The room will hold a MAX of 36 people - "first come - first served"!!!!!

PLEASE LOOK AT THE OTHER POSTS CONCERNING THE TOURNAMENT FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - the "#5 OBX Fishing Tourney - 2004 INFO", is the most current befor THIS one. There are also others - "#2", "#3", "#4", and "#5", as well as a couple more that are identifiable to "the OBX Tournament".
We ALSO need VOLUNTEERS to man the WEIGH-IN station each day of the Tourney - probably from 2-5P.M. or 3-5P.M. each day, except Sunday (12-1:30P.M. or so then). If we are unable to get volunteers for this, we will probably allow the Captain and a NON-crew member of the boat "verify" the catch.
I will post a current "CONFIRMATION LIST" and a "MAYBE LIST" in the next post on this thread. I need responses from EVERYONE for verification!!!!!!!

I just got my reservations yesterday at Pirate's Cove. They still have some available as of late yesterday. You are looking around 500-600 for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom with full kitchen. We are staying in Buccaneer's Village.

I'll be a "maybe" right up until the last minute. Because of this, I do not really plan to fish. At best, I may try to visit during the awards dinner. The drive is only about 1.5 hours from my home. Hope to see everyone there...

Bruce W. I'm a maybe now. We are doing a total remodel on our house at the coast. Suppose to have taken del in April, but as most projects, now sometime in May. The builder and job super have done well considering the winter weather. Also needed a crew to be able to fish up and so far no one has committed.

DRIFTER - Hope you can find out earlier - we're starting to "get short" on boats and need some! Even if you may not fish, try to attend the Award's Dinner (and HAVE DINNER WITH US! ). I WILL need to know by May 8 or 9 if you plan to DINE with us, so I can give the correct number to Kelly's! We also need at LEAST 10+ for THAT! I will not count you as "bringing a boat" or "crewing".
YELLOWFIN - Sorry you may not be able to join us - "closing" can be at the most inopportune times, that's for sure! Therefore, I will not book any crew on your boat.
AUGUSTE - I think Yellowfin was saying he is unable to get folks to crew/fish coming UP (from Moorehead City) - he was hoping to fish "on the way up and back", as well at OBX.
