Default best aluminum 30 ft range fishing boat?

Anyone know any really good hard core aluminum fishing boats in the appr. 28' to 32'... range. I'm ready to move up to a larger boat & want to make sure I'm not over looking one. Thanks for the help, great site, very helpful.

Lots of them in the Northwest.

Washington has Armstrong, Almar, Seawolf and some others. B.C. has Silverstreak, Coastalcraft, Lifetimer, Eaglecraft and more. Oregon has Mid jet and others.

All good boats, just suited to different tastes and styles and uses.

See if you can find a Gravois. They're made around here and are absolutely beautiful.

Any thing in that range will be a "semi" custom. Ruggit listed most of the major builders.

BTW, Auguste, I forgot. Who built Miss-Be-Haven ?

TheOldWizard

The boat was built by Brian Kirk near Kingston Ontario Canada

He was more affordable than anyone else I found for the quality of finish that he provides.

1-613-352-3322

He will not be building another boat until next winter . . . he is taking a much needed break.

Auguste,

It stopped at the governor set speed of 3900 rpm.

I might be under propped a little, as I can easily hit the 3900 rpm, even when I was full loaded . . . I could probably go faster

HOWEVER, I really don't need to go faster, and with the govenor and being under propped a little, it is not as hard on the engine . . . at least that's my approach

Hi marti

Prime tank 140 Imperial gallons which is 175 gallons US

Secondary reserve tank 30 Imperial which is 37 gallons US

Making about 210 gallons US

More than plenti for than 200 miles at 30 plus mph plus 30 hours trolling during an overnight trip

More than good enough and with a 20% reserve to get home

Glacier Craft makes some really deluxe custom aluminum boats. I saw a twin-diesel 32-footer at the boat show this year, for a mere $210,000. The cabin, living quarters, and inside floors were nicely done in teak, outer decks were 1/4" diamond plate, full electronics w/ 17" flat panel display (also connected to a DVD player), etc...

Koffler regularly make boats in the size range also. They offer a 28' Bay Bee.

Alumawelds are very popular with charter fisherman up here. The Alumaweld "28' Offshore Hardtop" is a very nice boat, and they seem to last forever. Several charters are using 10 year old + boats; they just repower with fresh outboards every couple of years. I have never seen a new one at a boat show or in the Alumaweld catalog. Maybe they are strictly a custom order boat?

Another charter operator has a 28' Fish Rite, and it also looks to be well made.

I have seen Aurora boats at boat shows. These are great looking boats, with wider than usual beams. They are made by Boulton power boats.

Outpost22 mentioned Harborcraft Kingfisher. They also have nice cabins with living quarters & appliances. I've seen these at boast shows sell for $95,000 with twin 225-outboards.
