Default 2006 Yahmaha 150 TXRD 2 stroke Stalling

I have a 2006 150 TXRD 2 stroke that stalled out while running a few weeks ago (It was running great all day). The boat had not been run in a few months and is in Ft. Lauderdale. The motor starts right up but when it is put in gear it stalls. We made it back to port by playing with the choke the whole way back in. This weekend I replaced the Fuel water separator and spark plugs. There was a lot of water in it. We figured this was the issue, but put the boat back in the water and it does the same thing. It will start, but as soon as I give it throttle (in nutral or in gear) it stalls out. If I leave it idle for any length of time, it stalls out. If I partially choke it, it stays running. Any Ideas.
Second questions, does anyone know of a reputable yamaha mechanic in the Fort Lauderdale Area? I tried calling 3 different Yamaha dealers about 6 months ago while the motor was still under warranty for its general sevice per the maintenance schedule but received no response to get the boat in. I know have 250 hrs on the motor and it is out of warranty.

By the symptoms, you definitely have partially clogged carbs. Do the seafoam treatment. Pour 3/4 can in about 2-3 gals in a portable tank. Pour the rest into a spray bottle. With the motor running off the portable tank, spray the seafoam into each carb, alternating between them. Should smoke like hell, and will clean as good as you can without removing and properly cleaning them. Good luck!

I had the same problem with a 2003 version of the 150 carbed Yamaha and it turned out to be water accumulated in the carb bowls. The water gets in, sinks to the bottom, and displaces the gas. Motor runs great until load conditions start pulling the water and then you stall out. The only solution is to completely drain the bowls and you may as well do a rebuild while you are in there.
