Default garbage disposal and oil placard

Not too long ago and due to a thread in this forum, I learned that those placard are some kind of requirement that mostly nobody follows and almost never gets enforced on recreational boaters...

they are just 7 or 8 bucks so I bought them but now I do not know where to put them, I want to comply with the law but I do not want it to be an eyesore on the boat.

Is the inside of the console allowed to place them???

I was wondering if the requirement is just to have them somewhere on the boat, or iftheyhave to be mounted on open view.

Thanks in advance...

Put one anywhere that something might be pumped overboard and in a prominent spot like your "max load" placard, if you have one, so it can be seen when people board or move around the boat. Having one near the motor is a good spot too for inspection purposes.

Good luckl!

Well I have a 30 feet CC not too many places like engine room or gally, but basically I'm getting the idea that you could put it anywhere as soon as you don't need to strip layers of fiber glass to find them.

That works. That's where mine are.

You can comply with the law without displaying it on a big sign in your boat. I have been boarded by every marine law enforcement agency many times and have never been asked about the sign.
