Hey guys, I have a problem and don't know where to go with this one. I have twin yamaha 200hp 2 strokes they are 89's. Runn well except the starboard motor when it warms up (after running for about 5-10 minutes at 3600 rpms) starts dropping down to 3200 rpms. Wehn I push the throttle up it doesn't go up, it will maybe 100 rpms and then start bouncing up and down about 1-200 rpms above where it was. The engine runs fine when it is kept at 3200 rpms. I don't know, I am thinking it is either the fuel pump or the stator but I don't see any fuel being dumped into the water. It revs up fine when not under load. Any adivce you guys could offer would be greatly appreicated. Thanks in advance.
I put in a brand new water seperator and the fuel filter looks clean. What else could it be? The carbs were rebuilt less than 100hrs ago. I will change the pumps but wouldn't you see a lot of fuel in the water? Is there any easy way to test if it is the fuel pump?
