Being it's 2008 and second/third party warranties don't normally deliver, I would be careful. Personaly I would not give it any value at all.

Aftermarket extended warranties rarely have any value above and beyond the paper that they are printed on.

FPC would be the one exception to that rule.

On a 2003, there probably isn't much "warranty" time left.

I wouldn't give it any more value towards the purchase price. In fact, it probably isn't worth the cost to transfer over to your name. As part of the deal, make the buyer pay the transfer fee.

At least that way, it doesn't cost you anything...

Take a look at the extended warranty paper, read the text; does it say it is underwritten by a company called AIG? Many companies sell extended warranties, but many/most of them point back to AIG. And unless you have been living in a cave, you know what AIG is all about...or now isn't all about.

I guess I'm one of the few people that has actual experience using my extended warrenty (not BRP) for my 2003 evinrude motor. Motor diagnosis was burnt piston, failure of injector. My actual experiences are listed below.

The company was great to deal with, they get an A+ rating from me.
No BS from them, very easy to deal with, no lack of coverage or trying to wiggle out of paying in full.
Work done on time and no money (lack there of) issues from the company.
