New Bluewater 35 Detailed Photos - Lauderdale Boat Show
I went to the Lauderdale Show with my son and some good friends on Sunday looking primarily at center consoles in the 29 to 36 size range. We saw many improvements to existing model such as the new deck on the 36 Yellowfin, stepped bottom hull on the 33t Contender and the new level deck option on the 34 Venture. But by far the most impressive all new boat was the 355 Bluewater. The following are some photos taken of the two 35’s that Bluewater brought to the show. Those of you looking in the class must now at least consider Bluewater. The attention to detail is a step-up from prior models (which was already considerably above average IMO) and the layout and storage of the 35 is impressive to say the least. A special thanks to Capt Mesa of Simply Hooked Charters for taking over an hour of his time to show us every detail of the boat.

I saw this boat in Tampa a few months ago. Its a very nice boat, I liked the twin bucket holders in the bildge. I dont like in deck wells, they always hurt someone or get someone wet in the winter. I like wells in the leaning post and not tackle centers. I also dont like hard tops, they look nice but break if you drive hard.

From the photos, the fit, finish and attention to detail look good! The only thing I saw that I'd like to see changed is the lack of non-skid on top of the transom area. That area can take a beating and keeping it nice and shiny could be tough.
I especially like the hinges without screw heads in them.
Re: New Bluewater 35 Detailed Photos - Lauderdale Boat Show
I've ridden (and fished) on a few really nice CC's.
SP28TE
Grady306
Reg26FS
Contender27
Bluewater2850
FWIW, the Bluewater2850 is my second favorite. The Southport 28 was almost as wide as the Bluewater. Both rode about the same, but the SP managed to hold the seas better in the rough slop. Personally I like Suzuki power over Yammi, and BW gives you that option. It think maybe the SP has more glass in it, giving it a heavier feel in a close chop. Reg was lacking beam and great for pounding through head seas, but when you get there and start trolling, you miss that extra beam for moving around. Contender rides above the seas, not through them.
But a 35 from BW? I'd love to ride in one and see what she does. I've been in some nasty seas, and anyone of those hulls would be my first choice for a boat of that caliber.
Personally, I love the storage in the BW, they've got a huge amount of cavernous storage on the 2850.
Also, I don't know why all boat manufacturers install the transom mounted washdown switch like BW does. We don't have to ask the Cap to turn on the washdown pump, he just expects us to do it ourselves. Brilliant.
Somebody buy one please, I can't afford it but would like to know more.

Unfortunately, the transom of the 35 doesn't have the switches like the 28. I love where they are on the 28 tho.
And the Southport is actually wider than the BW by a foot.
Subprime, Paul said it cruises at 40mph @ 1.4mpg... I am thinking they could get a little better with different props perhaps tho? Those #'s dont sound too great, but I guess are the average for a boat that size with that power?
Re: New Bluewater 35 Detailed Photos - Lauderdale Boat Show
New issue of sportfish mag tested one by dean travis - at cruise they were getting 35 mph burning 23 gph - incredible #'s for trip 300's! WOT: Got 61 mph burning 74 gph..
See ras, I don't bash your stuff....see how it's done?
Re: New Bluewater 35 Detailed Photos - Lauderdale Boat Show
it"s hard to read BW without thinking "Boston Whaler." maybe I'm just a little slow and haven't acclimated to the new realities of the CC market.
That "BW" sure looks pretty, but I think if I was in the market for something like that right now I would not be able to resist a 28 Southport TE. Or, should I say, a SP28TE...
Re: New Bluewater 35 Detailed Photos - Lauderdale Boat Show
Boat looks like a porker so those numbers look better than what I expected. The inside reminds me a lot of a 32 Whaler, definitely more fishable...just looks real beefy in construction, but certainly very nice! Looks like a great Bahama boat and better for the family over the hardest core fishboats of this size. 1.4 @ 40 sounds about right compared to the magazines 1.52 at 35.
I don't get how the article says the boat swerved at the back of a wave, yet you could leave your hands off the wheel.

Boat looks good. Looks like they learned a few things from their competition. Still not up there with the big boys, but not far away.
So whats missing EOD?
.
It doesn't say Contender on it...
BW have always skimped on little things like multiple small hinges instead of a piano hinge for compartments. Toe kick around the console would be nice. Just little things like that. But like I said, the 35 is getting into the arena with the heavy hitters, I just don't think its as good yet. I love the fact that they went to 3 piece construction, a flat deck and integrated bracket. 3 huge improvements over their other models. The console looks a little weird for my taste but that has no bearing on performance.

Re: New Bluewater 35 Detailed Photos - Lauderdale Boat Show
Compared to a few other cc's out there, im underwhelmed with those WOT numbers for trips. Maybe cuz of the zukes, but still. The SH 35 does 62 with twin Verado 300's.....not triples......the Invincible and YF also.
