REGULATOR 34SS
The Latest and Most Thrilling Regulator Ever
UNMATCHED ON THE WATER!
With its all-new 34SS, Regulator has taken the design of the offshore center console to a whole new level! Pushing the envelope in shear size and innovation, the Regulator 34SS is the exciting new flagship of the fleet, incorporating features engineered and built for the most serious fishermen, now featuring expansive new wrap-around forward seating, plus second home accommodations including a compact galley, sleeping berth and head. Ready to hear your reels scream? The single-level cockpit is huge, uncluttered and strategically outfitted to make your fishing experience nothing short of extraordinary. Other boat manufacturers often imitate Regulator, but can never duplicate the overall quality, attention to detail and legendary ride, backed by the superb power of Yamaha 350 V-8s.

so you cant walk around to fight a fish?.......nice testing conditions......wish it had an integrated transom. Brackets are not my cup of tea. Plenty of seating that is for sure. How bout some protection from the sun? A removable canvas top for the front which inserts from rod holders to the t-top might be nice.
I love Regulators....that being said, this boat does not make good sense. Take the yammies and bracket off and put a diesel in it so you can fish the stern. You can't fish the bow because of the wraparound seating. So on a 34 foot boat , you can only fish the rear sides of the boat. If you want bthat much seating, make it an express or WA. This takes all the benefits of a CC and gets rid of them and leaves the not so great things about a CC.
What is the point of a center console if you can't fight a fish around the starboard side? I would rather fish from a Walk Around. The inside of the console looks very nice.
There is no front fishbox? Where and how big is the fish box? This seems like a nice cruiser and should match-up well versus Intrepids line-up, but this does not seem as fish focused as Contender, Sea Vee, Venture, etc. I am sure the boat rides well, but I hope regulator comes out with a normal CC layout.
it seems like a decent layout for overnight trips. it has the tackle station on the right side of the console. lots of seating up front which i think it kinda questionable but i guess if you were out fishing overnight would be a nice place to lay down and still hear rods. also you never really ride up there and there is probably a ton of storage underneath all of them . Regulator knows their customer base and knows what they want. im sure they had some information when designing this boat. there are plenty of standard center console designs out there and this particular boat and layout are going to be a niche market just like the regulator brand. seems like people who buy this boat over a contender or yellowfin intend to use them for family and cruising as much as fishing. nice to see that they are trying a different look.

unless fishing alone, or on the hook, it makes no difference. more likely you follow a fish, to make up time and line. this boat will sell and well, it is family friendly which is a larger market share than hare core centers are. Intrepid invented this on the 32, and it is their best seller. A wis move by Regulator
There better only be one person fishing on that boat.I would not want to have to dock a boat I couldn't get up to the bow without jumping over a tackle station.Where do you put all those pretty cushions when you do fish??Oh, this the kind of boat you get when you Used to fish, and now just take boat rides. This is a miss by who ever designed the access into the bow.Imagine four people on the boat and needeing to get from the front to the back and the poor captain dealing with the trim tabs!!Even if four people were staged in back it is not natural to not have bow access from either side.Bad design , take the flag off of that flagship. If not turn that flag upside down, that is a RELEASED SHIP. WHY WOULD YOU HAVE COMBING CUSHIONS BETWEEN THE TACKLE DRAW STATION BOW BLOCKER AND THE HULL GUNNEL??? I get it this was just an april fools thing, right?? Who's wife desighned this one?? Sorry ,I'll pass on this design.Remove the front half and you have a great boat.Leave the front half and you have a real estate sales taxi.Use it to show homes on the water, and wear lots of sunscreen!!!

I'm sure that there are other seating configurations available - including a full CC. It makes sense to have the choices for the owners. It is very reminiscent of one of the configurations for the SeaVee 38 that came out last year. Some owners may want it - others not.
The bracket has to go. I am not fan of them you need an 8' reach or more to get around the engines. On the 26 it was a work-around because at least the boat offered 360 degree fish fight availability. Take that away with this seating configuration and combine it with the brackets makes the boat impractical for serious offshore fishing.
I personally think that any boat that does not have walk-around capability is seriously handicapped by outboards - both on a bracket and a eurotransom - but the brackets are the larger obstacle.
On the other hand - this configuration would be great for floating orgies, front seating needs a filler or possibly a bunch of beanbags and it would bear striking resemblance to a friends apartment right after college. He had 2 couches that could be turned to face each other and was aptly nicknamed, "The Love Pit"
Steve,
Did you go to U.S.F??i DID THAT TOOOOOO!!! The couch thing, that is!
no SUNY Albany. But the apartment I'm talking about was in Fort Lauderdale
Agree - Interpid like that for years - the SeaVee just stuck out because they had them side by side - one for cruising with all the seating - the other a strict no-nonsense CC for fishing
From what I understand right now, that wqrap around seating is not an option it is standard. The reason being is the air conditioning for down stairs is mounted between the gunnel and the console. I would ditch all that wrap around seating and lose the AC for downstairs and make it a center console. very disapointed as I had a friend that was going to buy one until he saw this.
What if you are fighting a fish from the stbd side that makes a run to the front of the boat?? Do you have to jump over the tackle station to keep up with him? Very interesting layout. I really like the regulators but this is not the best layout if you are going to be using the boat for fishing. There is so much seating in the front it looks like it would be tough to fish from up there as well. I am sure they will modify it to have a fishing/open version
Better buy one fast because they won't be making this one very long. What an absolutely horrible interior design. That's two in a row for Regulator now, the other being the express that looks like someone ran out of fiberglass and stubbed the aft portion short. The only possible use I can see for this boat is for the NY Yachtclub to buy one to take people out and watch off shore sailboat races.
