Just for info not trying to sell boats... and yes I'm a Whaler owner.

Whaler has added three new models to their Outrage line for 2009..... some hull design departures from years gone by. These models replace the 210/240/270 Outrages.

280 Outrage

Specs ....

28 ' L

9' Beam

6100 lbs dry weight

200 gallons gas

23 degrees deadrise at the transom

standand power twin 225 Verado .... 2 additional power option twin 250's or twin 300 Verados

I was fortunate to take a test ride in this boat ....... believe me it's a whole new feel/ride for Whaler the new hull tracks true and rides very smooth not your bone jarring ride of previous Outrages.

250 Outrage

24' 6" L

9' Beam

5100 lbs dry weight

175 gallons gas

22 degrees deadrise at the transom

Standard power single 300 Verado ...... 2 additional power options twin 150 or twin 200 Verados

220 Outrage

22' L

8' Beam

21 degrees dead rise at the transom

3100 lbs dry weight

115 gallons of gas

Standard power 225 Verado ....... 2 additional power options 250 or 300 Verado

We didn't run on the pins I guessing mid 50's it will come around 9200 lbs fully loaded. There are a number of manufacturers tageting the 28 - 29 ' range this year. I'm really interested in seeing the 29' Yellowfin.

I was gonna say Wellcraft!

But after reading your post, it makes more sense.

Sea Ray's, Maxum's and Bayliner's all are looking similar these days, so why not Trophy and Whaler???

Why hire five designers when just one will do!!!

Did anyone else notice there don't seem to be any 13'ers in the factory lineup? Don't know when they were dropped, but seems to mark the end of an era. Whether Classic or Dauntless or Sport, I thought there would always be a 13' Whaler of some sort.

I'm sure they are wheeling and dealing these days but based on MSRP, IMHO, you can due much better for the money.
