Not sure of the price, but Stan Phillips is good. Sea Winder is the name of his boat. You might try asking this question on the Gulf Coast forum, but I would imagine that anyone who reads that also reads this.

I live in the area and can vouch for Big John. Todd is a great captain and will get you on the fish. Another boat you may want to look at is the Mother Lode with Jason Hallmark. If you heard about the 1000 lb mako that was caught about a year ago, it was brought in by Jason on the Mother Lode.

bdbr,

Not saying Jason Hallmark is not a good Captain but it was Lindsey Stanley on See Ya Later II who caught the 1063# Mako....Jason Hallmark and Mother Lode just came to their aid because See Ya Later II is only a 23 foot boat and they didn't think they could haul her in.

I don't like flogging a dead horse on this matter but I like for facts to be straight. I am good friends with Jason and got the story first-hand. See Ya Later II foul hooked that beast with a cobia rod and 30# line. They had absolutely no gear to land that fish. Jason basically free-gaffed the shark with a flyer after first tying the rope off to the T-top, See Ya Later II folks were scared crapless over the whole ordeal. If you talk to anyone that was on See Ya Later II, they will tell you Jason was the only reason that fish was landed, quite simply. BTW, if you go fishin with Jason ask to see his tattoo of the shark. Pretty sweet. He is one HE!! of a fisherman.
