Default Deuce and a half

I bought a Deuce and a half this week. My son got one last winter and at this we were high bidder on 3 Deuces. He got two and I got one. I know it is not a boat; but the sucker can tow just about anything. It's engine is a multi-fuel. Anything from gasoline to veggie oil. www.steelsoldiers.com

Photos? I'd love to have one of them suckers. I'd have a storage issue with something that big though.

I am waiting for EUC approval. You have to prove for the Feds you are really a citizen and you have swear you will not export or sell to an illegal. There is another form for a title and then state registration and tags, insurance, ect. The process can take months. The up side is once you get all the papers you can sell them for a good profit if you want. All I have now are the pics from the auction. I will post some pics when we get them home. You can google M35A2 and you can see lots of pics of the famous Deuce. Yes they are huge. I don't thing my neighbors would like it parked on the street or in the lot next door. I will keep it at my son's farm. When I do bring it to NJ I can keep it at secure lot where a buddy keeps his RV.
They make great Tow vehicles, snow plows, eco-car crushers. I bet they really pi$$-off the tree huggers. I can use it to tow my Hummer around and save on gas. I am going to run the sucker on used veggie oil. My son is going to bob one and make it into a 4 wheel drive instead of a monster 10 wheel drive. The trucks have three axles and 10 wheels.

When I spent a week back at the Hummer factory in Indiana, they had one on their test track that they let us "try out".

Awesome!!!

You really do feel in control behind the wheel of that thing!

AM General used to have the contract to refurb those things. It took them about three old ones to come up with one "new" one (plus new engines, etc..).

I took plenty of pics of it as well as the inner-workings of the factory, but alas, the folks at Homeland Security would probably frown on me posting them on the 'net.

Wait... Shhh... I think I hear the black helicopters out my window right now!!!

Gotta go!!!

The noise/speed ratio is about the highest in any vehicle known to man.

You can buy a and take it for a swim. Yes the Deuce is loud. My son put a NAPA muffler on his and now you can hear the road noise, and gear lash. I wear hear phones. The noise is deafening either way. Most of these trucks are low hour on rebuilt motors maintained by the motor pool. My son turned the key and drove his away. It even had a full tank of diesel; but buying a Deuce at auction is like a box of chocolate you never know what you are going to get. This one is a $1500.00 dollar gamble. With all the paperwork and running good will bring around 5-7K. At bobed truck gets around 10-15K. They cost the govt around 42K in 1960's-1970's. You can beat the price. I don't know why local governments don't buy these for snowplow trucks, brush firetrucks, tow trucks and highwater rescue vehicles. They could save the taxpayers 10,000's of thousands of dollars. Where I live probably a million dollars. Brick NJ just likes to pi$$ taxpayer's down every rat hole and in their own pockets. The X-mayor is in jail right now for bribe taking, so is the guy that was in charge of buying vehicles.

There was a GammaGoat at Pismo Beach during the Labor Day w/e (see my photo report in the pic section, but none of the gamma). My son had never seen one before. He told me to trade the Jeep in on one...

Drove one in Nam for a year. Hell of a truck. Hauled mostly bombs but some times we got to haul beer to the PX. For some strange reason a pallet would always break open and some would disappear. Used to fly over those pontoon bridges leaving the ground. Really built tough.

I remember `em as being 6X6. AFA the multifuel capability, I read thru one of the manuals (-23 maybe?), and there was some mechanical changes required, before you could run it on the alternatives...but that
wasn't even considering vegetable oil and such.

They are called 6X6 but they still have ten wheels. Each on the rear axles have four tires a dual dually.
