Default Smart rail-Fast rail

Has anybody tryed them, if so what results.
I have a 38FBC australian built mastang with old old 275HP ford Cargo motors. I knor its under HPed but i cant afford to put new engines in it.
Im Looking for a little more top end speed as with a clean bum, going down hill with a tail wind i get 20 nm tops.

I have Smart Rails on my 27 Contender and they work great at what they are supposed to do, and in addition they give me a LOT of bow lift when running with, or into heavy seas.

While they do what they are advertised to do in deflecting spray, a side effect is that as I mentioned, give bow lift. BUT I am not sure they will help you with doing anything with fuel burn or adding top speed?

Thanks Guys
How about the fitting?
Easy, hard
Have they lasted?
I fish for marlin, shark and tuna would they stand up to a bit of a hiding
I could do with some bow lift.
This may sound funny but i lenghtnd my trim tabs because it goes faster when its trimed right down

I put them on my 32' Luhrs both on the bow for spray and stern for lift. Knocked the spray down by at least 80% and the stern lift gave me an additional knot at cruise and almost 10% better fuel economy(per floscans). They were an excellent addition to my boat and I HIGHLY recommend them. Very easy to install with TWO people. Take your time and read the instructions several times.

Installed them on my Albemarle. Installed 9' sections at the stern as I wanted to reduce the boat rocking while at drift.

That all depends on what you're trying to accomplish...
Reduce the spray by installing them on the bow or Get on plane faster by installing by the stern.

It improved my fuel burn but slightly decreased my RPM at wide open throttle.
It improved my handling & reduced the rocking while drifting or at anchor. It was worth the money.

how much would you estimate it cost and how dramatic was the rocking improvement?

If memory serves me correctly the smartrails cost about $300. Reduced the rocking by est 30%.
There are several posts on the Albemarle website. Have you seen this?

i havent been on there in a while to be honest with you. i did read about the rails and something about them made me lose interest. maybe i thought they werent worth the money or the installation wasnt fun. i think there was some confusion about where they should be placed. anyhow, i forgot about them and just went fishing. lol

I gess i would like to get everything out of them, more speed, less fuel, less rock/slap when drifting, lower fuel prices, lower interest rates, more work for my buisness, a sporter wife, the wind not to blow on the fishing days, more fish, beer to be free, longer summer you know just the usual.
