Default Older Hydra-Sports versus Wellcraft Coastal 2600

Compare a 1992 Hydra Sports 2550 with 200 Johnsons with a 1990 Coastal 2600 with 225 Johnsons as far as ride, fishing functionality, maintenance is concerned. Run 50 miles to Gulf fishing grounds. I know they are both fuel hogs. Accepted that. 2550 has bait well in stern. $3000 difference in "asking price". Thanks.

If you are buying a boat with 1990's engines buy Yamaha, they are much more dependable.

I understand the Yamahas are probably better if the shift linkage has been replaced, but I can't find a 2600 coastal or Hydra-sports 2550 with yamahas, since I believe these boats came from the factory with Johnsons. Unless someone has repowered---. I need the full transom and there just aren't any on the market with Yamahas. These boats were made in the nineties and just a few years at that. I have looked at Grady's, Pursuits, Pro-Lines, Aquasports, and Trophys but I like these two boats the best. Thanks for the thought.

Looking at pictures of the pursuit 2650 and 2655 the accessibility to fuel tank, pumps, batteries doesn't seem to be as good as on the coastal for example. Haven't found a boat to actually look at. Thanks for the thought. It is my understanding they are a good boat, probably better at sea than the coastal.
