I own one of these, the 1500 in CAMO. I bought it to use on rivers and near shore on Long Island Sound. With two adults (350 lbs total) and gear on the boat I get into the mid twenties with a 15 hp Yamaha 2 Stroke. I have a 25 hp engine but feel no need to swap out the 15. Nice and beamy, makes a decent fly fishing boat, two people can take it on and off the trailer. I haven't been in any real rough water so can't speak to it's ability to handle sloppy conditions. The build quality of these boats is excellent and the owner(s?) of the company are very nice people. I looked around a LONG time for a tiller operated, trailerable, non aluminum 14-16 ft boat and had a budget for many options. After a year of looking this boat was what I thought offered a pretty terrific value for the money.

I have a friend who use to make a living on one of those boats. I recommend them.

I have a 2007 Susquahanna Skiff 1500 with a 25 hp 4 stroke and it flys and handles the chop well. The flare of the bow also knocks the spray down really well. It is an excellent choice in a 15' skiff. A definite copy to the old Steurys...

Cameraguy: Do you still have this boat? Where on the Shore do you live? Been trying to find a used 1500 Flare or Susky skiff but no luck..
