I love Boeshield T-9........use it on everything and it leaves a very thin clear protective coat. Others here say it is too thick but I have not found that. Try it. If nothing else spray the shelf at west Marine and see for your self. ( I service motors for a living and have been for 23 years)

I've had very good luck with Corrossion Block. It's also sold under a few other names.

CRC makes a "battery terminal protectant" It is red and gooey and resists spray and salt very well.

I started using CRC 656 a couple of years ago at the suggestion of several THT members including Glen and it does a great job on electrical connections. Best part is you don't have to deal with greasy fingers should you need to take things apart or do maintenance later on. Good stuff!

I use Boeshield T-9. Glenn's right, mechanics hate it, motors and electrical connections love it.

Red can for electronics.

Do not use the green can on electronics or any linkages or steering. Green can does work great on trailer springs and lug nuts

I use the boeing shield t-9 as well. Question to the CRC 656 fans. Does the CRC leave a protective coating as well? Do you find it to be splash resistant or more suitable for completely enclosed areas?

I use BoeShield T-9 on all terminals like fast-ons, and ring terminals. Stuff that is mostly permanent.

Corrosion Block under then engine couling.

I also use 3M silicone paste (brush top can) on all my electronics plugs with pins...like on the back of electronic units or anywhere you have a plug and socket thats mostly never unplugged. Gop the stuff on plug it up and leave it. The stuff keeps water (humidity) and air out...two elements required for corrosion to occur. (This stuff is also a great lubricant for rubber and plastics...like that hinge side gasket on the fridge or freezer that likes to roll rather than slide.)

T-9 was invented by Boeing to protect components that were going into storage, not for things that were being used and constantly moving. Corrosion protectant products to me break into two groups, those that you use for things that are moving and elelctrical and possibly need to be taken apart, and those that you want to "seal" forever. Fot the first, I like CRC656 as it is cheap and I can get it by the gallon and put into a sprayer and get everything on the boat. Any of the other liquids are fine too, like Corr X or Corr block. They all leave a film that lasts.

Now for things that are not going to move like terminal blocks, windlass connections, etc - I use a thicker cover like T-9, CRC HD or Woody Wax.

For harness connectors, I like di-electric grease.

And there is no reason to use something that your tech does not like, as when jobs come in and the motor is coated with thick protectant, he can use harsh methods to remove it or even worse, give the job to the tech with less seniority - a really bad move for you....
