Default Problem with Albemarle 247 engine mounting pads.

Hi Guys,
I just lifted the engine out of my 1996 Albemarle 247 Cuddy (pre jackshaft) for an oil pan replacement. The port box that the port engine mount bolts to has two holes in it that are there for the lag bolts. Water keeps coming up thru the holes on the port side and has a foul odor. The stbd mounting box is totally dry. The boat is on land. I keep vacuuming it out and have tried blowing the water out with compressed air but it always comes back. I'm wondering if this glassed in mounting box is supposed to drain somehow or if I have bigger problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Misfit
