Default Edgewater Bahama Trip

Greetings all,
Looking for anyone that has made the trip from WPB to the Bahamas that is sponsored by Edgewater Boats. Trip usually happens in June I believe. I'm thinking about making the trip in 2009 and I'm looking to hear about any first hand experiences.
thanks

Pete Truslow is my next door neighbor and I am planning to attend next year also. They come back every year with great pictures and stories.

I went with my 225 express five years ago. Got the hell beat out of my two daughters, wife and myself. Very rough crossing. Terrible weather majority of the time we were in Green Turtle.

Girls flew back and met me in West Palm Beach. At least they weren't bitching at me as I came back solo...

My wife and I went for the 07' trip. We were on my 31' with another couple. We split a beautiful house right on Gilliam Bay. The trip over was great. A little bumpy across the stream but than the next 120 miles on the bank was perfect. Everyday had different events going on. Two day fishing tournament we dragged the big stuff for big Marlin. One on for a short run the first day. The next day we ran down to Jurassic and caught a couple of nice Wahoo's. Just got all our lines back out when we saw a small bird fooling around about 50 yrds. starboard at 3 o'clock. With him we watched a huge Marlin as he put his after burners on and scafed our baits in about 4 seconds. Just enough to give you a freaking heart attack. Along with the dinners and dancing and golf cart racing ,hanging out on the beach with some rum runners, Hontoon's Famous Bar-B-Q, (Thanks Carl ) all the great company it truly is a ball. A ton of fun for adults and kids alike. I did miss this year, but never again. Check out EdgeWater's web site for past pics and info. Love the Grean Turtle.......

You know, I have been offered a ride a few times when he has it tied up to his dock but never gone. I did get Peter out on one of my Cigarette boats for a nice blast up the beach a few years ago!!

I took my wife and several friends this last year --- we have a 24 EW - as mentioned, the ride over was rough --- but the trip was an absolute blast. We rented a house and a few golf carts -- caught some nice blackfins - did some snorkeling -- and the EW folks had wonderful events every evening. Really a super time -- we are already planning on going next year. AND - the ride home was as calm as a lake! We ran full speed without a single bump all the way back to WPB - incredible. I highly recommend the trip -- it is a ton of fun!
