I dropped off my 21' Contender 2 hours ago so the shop can begin the installation tomorrow. They expect to have the boat back to me by the end of the week. I am very excited. Is there anyone else out there with this same setup? I ended up going with the 23 tempest prop. I will keep you guys posted as to the performance and pictures of the new beast.

Damn you. Numbers needed when your done with break in. As far as I know your the first 21 with the 300xs, but I may be wrong.
Almars is fantastic to deal with! I bought my last boat and motor from them. I got my service at Chesapeake Whalertowne ( http://www.whalertowne.com ) though. They have a master tech named Richard Jerns who is top knotch. My Opti was never a lick of trouble!
I will say that I got my Opti oil from a place in NJ this year. They were down the road from my parents and had the best cost on oil around. i am not sure if they would ship it in containers out of a drum though. Here is their web address to see if they will ship oil to you http://www.kingmarineoutboard.com
I will probably do the same thing as you are doing when it comes to servicing the engine as Whalertowne is closer. Almars had a much better price and there is no sales tax in DE. Boy, I am very excited.
Congrats on the repower. The extra 100 hp should really wake up the boat . I am a little curious, do the 23 SeaCraft and the 21 Contender serve two different purposes? IE: is one an offshore while the other is nearshore? Is there an appreciable difference in ride out of either boat? Either way, it looks like you have two great setups .
Well, I have about 30 minutes on the motor so far. The first hour is the most critical of the break in. So far, I have seen 48.8 knots which was arund 5200 rpms. Going out today for some more. Will keep you all posted.

56.158 mph. Not bad on hour one of the break in. My guess is 64 mph WOT after break in. Your RPM to speed is better than my Yam 300 HPDI.....that goes without saying, you are running a MERC. Can you get me fuel burn numbers?
i thought smartcraft came standard on the 300 xs?? I know they do on the verado!!
