Default Maximum Width Boat You've Towed? (Over-sized)

I have been looking over the laws and talking to people about towing an oversized boat. Most of the boat is within limits, but the widest point (the measurement that matters) is 11'4" So far it looks like 102" is a maximum allowed without a permit. However, most information I hav found indicates that they never mess with recreational users and that it applies more for commercial truckers. I am fully aware that breaking this law could result in a major problem in the case of an accident. I am just wondering if anyone else out there has towed anything this wide or close to this wide and what experience you might share about it.

I know in Michigan, I get a "personal" permit for $15 per year that allows me to tow my boat, 9'6", without hassles. I'm suppose to use signs and flags but I never do. No problem here unless you have stuff on the side of your truck that looks commercial.

Well, oops, I should have done this first-shame on me! Found this http://www.thehulltruth.com/forums/t...185771&start=1 has a link to FL site. I called and a year permit for 11'4" is $330 / year. Not too bad.
