Default Regulator 23..need info.

Anyone have a 23 Regulator with a 250. I am looking at one and would like some first hand info on performance and ride. Thanks. I am looking at a 1999 model.

I also want to know if there are any weight concerns with repowering with a single Suzuki 250 4-stroke.

The 250 will be adeqaute but minimal. It will probably top out around 40 - low 40's and feel somewhat lacking holeshot and wave climbing power. Also, I assume its an OX66 yamaha. Because of the wieght and reduced performance that boat will probably yield terrible fuel burn numbers. Definetly under 2mpg. And to answer your 2nd question, no there should not be a wieght problem because they carry twin 150's regularly. I know its a earlier model but wieght should still not be a problem. But to be honest I feel the DF300 would a be a really great match for the 23 reg. Its a great boat! Good Luck

300 suzuki definitley a better match. Weight will not be an issue since they have been rigging from factory with twins since they were introduced.

a df 250 will yield over 2nmpg. my friend has one and made a 220 mile canyon run and trolled all day on 100 gallons of fuel. im not sure how heavy he was loaded but i know he wasnt the only person on board and im sure he had plenty of ice and gear. i believe he stated a cruise of around 28kts. i would definetly agree on the df300 being perfect for that boat

I run a 1998 hull w/ a 225 Yam stroke, while it is no speed demon I cruise comfortably at 25-28 mph. It does lag out of the hole but I am hoping to improve that with a new Merc prop, either an Enertia or Rev 4. I find the ride to be excellent for it's size, just last night ran it 25 miles home in a chop and no sore back in the morning. Very solid boat w/o all the bs amenities that really don't need on a fishing boat. Hulls can tend to chaulk out so try and stay with a light color. I once spoke to someone that re-powered with a Zuke 250 and he was very happy with the set up. PM me if you have any other questions.
