Default Bomar deck hatch leaking

Has anyone successfully repaired a leaking Bomar hatch? I have two of them that are leaking between the glass and frame. One is a relatively small (16"x16") aluminum frame hatch and I tried to reset the glass with lifecaulk. All I did was waste several hours and make the leak worse. The other hatch is of more concern as it is a large (20"x20") cast hatch (100 series) with tinted Lexan for the glass and it is leaking on my bunk! It just started leaking a couple of days ago and I haven't attempted a repair yet. I would like to avoid replacing the entire hatch so if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

The gaskets appear to be fine. There is no water intrusion around the deck. The only place that appears to be leaking is the seal between the frame and the glass (Lexan). Specifically, it appears to be leaking at one of the corners. I'm wondering if life caulk was the wrong product for this application. That is the only thing that I can think might cause this problem.

I don't know if Life Caulk is correct for setting glass or not, but I can tell you that its not supposed to be used on plastics.

Try Select Plastics. They can repair them for you. Don't waist your time trying to fix them your self.
