Outstanding Calcutta Marine Customer Service after the Sale We purchased our Calcutta 263 catamaran about a year ago, and recieved an unsolicited call from the owner Steve Ellis a couple of weeks ago inquiring about our experience with the boat over the first year of operation. As with any boat we had a few minor issues, but we are certainly enjoying the boat. Steve asked if we would be willing to bring the boat to the factory in Palmetto so he could take a look and make sure everything on the boat was performing up to his standards. We agreed and dropped the boat off last week for him to inspect.
When we picked it up yesterday;
1. all of the hoses in the boat had been replaced with new high quaity rubber pressure hose,
2. a new windshield was installed as there was a little crazing on the old one,
3. the rivets on the inside hinges of the hatches showed a bit of rust so all were replaced with stainless steel screws which were then ground smooth and gel coated,
4. a spreader light had a bit of water in it so it was replaced,
5. all of the bilge pumps were checked and two were replaced,
6. the steering and auto pilot were adjusted for optimal performance,
7. the electronics were checked and a loose fitting was repaired,
8. the racor fuel filters were replaced,
9. the vinyl on the bolster pads and seats was showing some UV damage so all of it was replaced,
10. two small abrasions on the hull gel coat which we caused were repaired.
Steve did all of this work, and probably more we haven't noticed yet, at no charge and thanked us for taking the time to bring the boat to him so he could do the work. We would also like to thank Mark and Sam for all of the time they spent making sure the boat was in tip top shape.
We all know boat manufacturering is not an easy business today, but Calcutta Marine's comittment to service and a quality product has certainly made a customer for life out of me. |
