Default Oregon Inlet rough water video

A few years ago, there was a video of a boat going through when it was really rough. Does anyone have a link to that video?

Thanks.

I'd have to call that only "average rough" for Oregon Inlet.

I would say it's rough when it's breaking all the way across the channel. That's nothin

Holy crap, I thought dixie bar was bad. Does it eventually smooth out? What size boat was that and what size waves were they hitting towards the end?

If I had to guess, it sounds like a pair of 250 Yamaha OX66's pushing the boat

Looks a little bumpy but not that rough. I bashed through 12-15 seas in a 30 footer for nearly 3 hours. And yes, true 12-15 footers. It happened to me on the way back from the Bahamas last month. I was crossing the Gulf Stream when a storm brewed up and after a night of storms and 30 MPH winds.

How about running that inlet IN-bound while it was breaking all the way across at night. That would be a good time-NOT, talk about a pucker facter

Not too bad for Oregon Inlet. It gets a lot worse than that.

That is just about normal for Oregon Inlet. Breaking 8 footers happen every other week...

31 Contender? I've been in stuff way worse than that in my 23 SC. I have to slow it down to 17-18 knots, thought. I've never felt unsafe.

While that's not even close to being "sporty" in that video, unless you've gone thru OI it's hard to pass judgement on it. You've got to experience it,so go book a trip and help out those captains. Those guys are awesome, and they'll put you on some great fishing-just about any time of year.

I'm wondering, why not run at a little bit slower and more comfortable speed?

I'lll admit it can get alot rougher, I just wanted to show some guys that I fish with how rough the inlet can be even when the ocean is nearly slick calm. Notice how it looks past the bar.
