Three years on my tie downs. Trailer is a triple axle King with disc's on all axles. I have about 7,500 miles of towing on it and the brakes have been a non issue. Never even changed the pads yet.

This was obviously an installation problem and had nothing to do with the quality of the product. As stated above, a torque wrench and lock tite needs to be used.

Just to chime in here for a second, this is also a problem with Kodiak brakes if they do not have the proper amount of type of thread locker on them. Either way, brake slider pins should be checked as part of the pre-tow check of tire pressure, bearing lubrication, brake fluid, lights function, lug nuts, slider pins, coupler and actuator lubrication, and boat tie-downs.

Also PLUS ONE on the SCAD rotor with SS caliper from Kodiak. They are by far the best value (and Titan makes an almost identical clone in the same price range) deal out there at not much more than el-cheapo e-coats and super expensive all stainless sets.

My 8 month old Tie Down calipers were returned to the Manufacturer for replacement due to corrision. Tie Down lost them, said they never received them, and refused to honor the warranty. The only thing crappier than their product is their customer service!

These brakes were installed incorrectly. The caliper is supposed to be mounted at the top or to the rear as near the top as possible. This is stated in the installation instructions. No wonder they failed.
