Default I-Command v. Standard Guages v. Lowrance

Hi guys, I purchased a 150 Etec for my 20 Sea Craft restore, which is in its final stages. Right now the only guage I have is a tachometer, which was given to me by the dealer. I was wondering what guages and instruments I should have other then the tach (which has the engine check sensors inside).

I also wonder whether or not I should buy the I-Command system. While researching, I came across some posts suggesting the Lowrance guages.

Suggestions ?

Lowrance is the way to go. I've had 3 sets of the regular (analog readout on the top, small digital readout of the bottom), and they all been junk. After the third set my mechanic told me that Evinrude was doing away with the regular ICommands and going with the Lowrance system only.

They Lowrance set up had been good to me..

HTH.

To keep your warranty in force, you need to have either a SystemCheck Tach with the 4 warning lights, or the 2" System Check gauge, or the digital equivalent with a warning system for the motor.

The I-Command gauge from Evinrude does more and gives more information than the Lowrance version because it had more enhanced software capabilities.

The I command will tell you more than you need to know. Why risk your warranty/ compatibility issues? I have the classic and they work as advertised.

The I-command gauges are made by lowrance for b.r.p. I have four plus a lowrance lcxhd unit . It's pretty cool when it's all working but I have had alot of issues with the set up . Most of them were solved with firmware upgrades but still I think it all boils down to all that digital gauges and nmea2000 backbone cable etc. is affected by salt and plays havoc with the system .
