Compare the weight to the carbed and HPDI 150,s. The Yam 4 pumper weighes less than both the the HPDI's. From reports the souped up 4 pumper will run close with the HPDI. I dont claim to have first hand knowledge but in talking with 2 different dealers they advise the 150's have been very impressive for a 4 cylinder. The Hondas are also sweat looking powerplants.
Been running the Yamaha F150 for a couple weeks now on a Sea Hunt 20 Escape. Nothing short of phenomenal. No sacrifice in hole shot, excellent top end performance, and I can't tell that I've burned any fuel yet! Can't compare to the Honda, since I haven't run one, but I've already ordered this same engine to repower the 18' Flats skiff. The weight difference is not that big an issue, and the performance has not been sacrificed at all in my opinion from the two stroke. Thumbs up to Yamaha on this one.
How can you say Porky?
What does a 2 stroke 150 weigh??????
I'll give you a little time to answer
I think..... now you know!
Hey... I'm not knocking 4-strokes, I'm just stating the obvious. 4-strokes are heavy. If your boat can handle that, go for it. Some boats just can't handle the weight, and that's a fact.

Weight on the F150 should not be a significant issue at all!!!! It weighs within 50# of most all other 2 strokes and if you looking at Yamaha, it weighs the same/less than an HPDI. The whole PORKY comes in for the F200's & F225's that out weigh their 2 stroke brethren by 120#.
My point is, if you call the F150 Porky, you have to call 2 strokes Porky, unless you specifically mention brands because they weigh about the same a 4 strokes in the 150HP class.
Even the Honda, which are renowned for PORKY only weighs 475#
