Default RADAR OR CHART PLOTTER?

if you guys could only get one or the other what would you choose.
I know they are distinctly different. I am so far back in the dark ages I am still just using a loran. .any suggestions ? I guess what I'm asking is what is the best bang for the buck.

Not even close, a chartplotter for me. I had radar on my boat and used it about once a year, the chartplotter I use every day.

Chartplotter. Like Kirk said, you use it everyday. Basically an electronic chart version of your Loran based on latitude and longitude, course you probably already knew that. I seldom use my radar either. Maybe if my radar were a little more powerful though it'd be more useful....ie. to see birds.

A chartplotter for navigation but it won't tell you a freighter is coming your way...

Chartplotter... It'll will end up being your most valuable fishing tool. Don't get careless and forget how to use a compass. You may lose power while your on the water.

Preferrably a WAAS GPS.

Add the radar next year...
