Default HELP: PART NEEDED Mercury smart gauge part

Help!
I have an '01 150 Optimax with the Smart Gauge. The gauge is the small square one the is 3" x 3". I need the housing that the computer module sits in. The one I have has a 1 1/2" diameter round nut the screws onto the back of it to secure it to the console. The problem is that the plug will not stay connected because the little nipple on the gauge that hold the plug in place has broken off. As long as I don't hit any waves it will stay on! Haha. I called Mercury to see if I could get just that part and they said "sorry sir, you will have to buy the whole unit". $225 will buy a lot of gas, well maybe not that much gas.

Does anyone have an old unit you have replaced. Are there any dearers or does anyone know of any dealers that I might be able to get an old unit from? I would rather not have to "rig" it but if it comes to that a tube of silicone should work.

Thanks

Buy a standard smartcraft tach off ebay, rob the part then put it back on ebay telling that is needs to be fixed.

Permatex orange (high temp) use a few dabs that will hold it and it will come back apart if you need to. We did this on all our connectors in the engine bay on the racecar.
