Default Revere Coatal Compact

I am going to buy a life raft and have very limited space on my boat. 26'' twin vee cc. I was wondering if any one has any opinions on the new 4 man coastal compacts. says that it is not reccomended for offshore use, but I figure something is better than nothing and I don't have room for one of the larger models.

I think they are fine for the Gulf. I would not want to ride out a hurricane in one....

I got one....I figured that a small raft beat the heck out of swimming. I only fish 10-20 miles max offshore in the gulf, and I carry a handheld vhf and gps too.

I got the 4 man coastal compact valise model. Like you said...I would rather have a small lightweight one than nothing. Along with my 406 Epirb and other safety equipment I hope I would not be in it long. I fish in the Gulf usually 25nm to 90nm out. Even at 90nm there are usually boats in sight most of the time.

It seems to be the best bet out there for something that will fit in my boat. I usually fish 5-50 miles out, but if it will float in coastal waters it should float offshore. I'm gonna order one this week.
Thanks
