Default Suzuki Outboard Owners (200hp and larger)

Have done a quick search but not found what I was hoping for. Can any of you guys that own larger Suzuki's comment on their performance, reliability and generally if you're happy with them or not. Saw one post from Fisheye who didn't appear to be too happy with twin 225's which is exactly what I'm considering. Thanks guys..

I've only got about 2 hours on my 250 twins, but they were vastly more powerful than the same model boat with twin Honda 225s. The holeshot is very impressive (about the same as a 250 DFI).

I am pretty sure I will be getting the DF250's for our boat on order. (SeaVee31). The engines are great. The only thing I did not like was the gauges, but I just heard this week that Suzuki will have digital guages just like Yamahas very soon.

Danny,

I was told by a Suzuki mechanic that the Suzuki guages were on hold due to legal issues with Yamaha. Apparently the guages are from the same people that did the Yamaha guages and Yamaha is claiming intellectual property or something like that. Have you heard anything different?

Connor,

Do you have a link to that other thread?

Harry

connor - everyone is replying about four strokes, but you didn't say.

Are you asking about two strokes or four strokes?

Sorry, yes - I'm interested in four strokes not two strokes. Made some phone calls today and talked to some Suzuki dealers - all have said they have been great motors for what it's worth.

For the other person looking for a link do a search on Suzuki and you will see a post from Fisheye (tried emailing him but email got kicked ****** - he, evidently, wasn't very happy........

So far I have only about 25 hours on my new pair of 250 4-strokes. Perfect so far.
Great hole shot and super quiet. I can hear my "hour" meter click over the sound of the engines while idling. THAT'S QUIET !

I'll second spud's comments on the pair of 250's that are on the back of my 27 Contender. 35 hours & increasing.
