Default A1 Outboards

I'm looking at using one of the vendors on the site. I'm thinking about have them rebuild a Mercury 150 hp powerhead for $3700 + shipping

Does anyone know or can share any past experence with A1 Outboard?

I'm not 100% convinced yet, I have spoke on the phone with Mike, and seems to be a good salesman, so what do members on this board think?

Someone sent me a private email and said that A1 Outboard is the same company as Blackbird Ind, Did a google search on Blackbird Ind. and not many folks have good thing to say!

Does anyone know if this is correct?

Do a search on A1 on here and decide for yourself. They don't have a good rep on here due to some unfortunate decisions on their part a few months ago.

An informed customer is a smart customer. Google the following and make your decision:

1outbord (on Ebay)
A1 Outboard
Blackbird Industries (aka A1 Outboard)

You'll come up with lots of reading like the following links:

Take $3700 and put it in an open box atop your car. Drive to their shop and if there is any money left in the box offer them that for a motor. They butchered my powerhead and didn't put half of those parts listed in the rebuild.
