2003 Yamaha 225 4 stroke Idle problem

Port engine wants to cut out only at idle after being at low RPM around the dock or 10-15 minutes of 6-700 RPM operation. Dealer thinks the bulb in the fuel line may be going or a low pressure fuel pump on the motor ( I hope not- expensive). When you pump the bulb up the motor does not miss a beat. Runs fine at high RPM;s on long fishing trips and trolling (10-15 hours of continuos ops but dies going into the marina right near the dock or in the slip at idle. Any thoughts here?

It could be a whole list of things in the fuel system. Your dealer needs to spend some time troubleshooting. It is most likely not the fuel pump. If it works in the higher rpm's it will work in the lower rpms it is an electric pump should work at all times.
