Default ElectroScan problem

I have just installed an ElectroScan waste treatment system. I have a fresh water Vacuflush so I went with the 4 gal. salt feed tank.
It works great at the dock, but every time I go offshore it uses up fresh water quickly and loses its salt, causing a low amp fault. The only thing that can be happening is a siphoning of the fresh water through the salt feed, causing all of the fresh water to be flushed through while the boat is running.
To fix this, I bought a 24v sprinkler valve from Home Depot. I put this in the salt water feed line. The theory is that without 24v power on it, the valve will close and with the power on it will open.
With the power off, it doesn't seem to close. I think that the problem is that with only a few oz. going through the line, the valve won't shut. Perhaps when it starts siphoning offshore the valve will shut. I haven't run the boat since I installed this valve.
The other obvious solution is to put a manual valve in the line, but I prefer not to crawl in the bilge in the morning before going offshore to cut it off, then crawl in the bilge offshore to cut it back on, then crawl in the bilge when I'm ready to come home and cut it off again, etc.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Yeah, call Raritan. Maybe the float valve is not functioning properly. The only way out for the fresh water is either the salt feed line or the overflow line. I think a electric valve in the salt feed line is not a good idea. Hard to troubleshoot from here.

Sprinkler valves need pressure to operate.
