How to find out who the owner is of FL reg boat ?

I want to find the owner of a Fl reg boat to find out if he would like to sell it

it has current Fl reg but No one around the yard can tell me the owner, I left a letter on the hitch of the boat hoping to get a call but boat been sitting there 3 years ?

Contact Fl. DNR ( or whatever it is called now.) That's public info. Also if you tell the clerk you are interested in buying the rig, that might help. Waterat

The agency is the FWC or Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission...although any LEO can run a registration check, but they probably wouldn't. It is public information as pointed out earlier and Boat registration and data are maintained by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV). Your local tag office (county tax collector) or DHSMV office has a process that you can go through to find out the names of the individuals that own the vessel. There is a list of tax collector's offices at http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/offices/.

As LouCap said - go to your county license plate;boat registration;tax collectors office with the Florida registration number and they have a brief form for you to fill out, & they will give you the owners name. It is the same procedure for a car license plate.
