I get those offers all the time from some person handeling an oversea's estate and they will send 4,000,000 and I can keep half just by opening a bank account. Its only cost $143.00 to open the account and the money is mine to keep. Laugh but my banker says she gets calls all the time from customers who fall for this.

Default boatsdepot scam

Just to see what response I would get I contacted a listing on boatsdepot, the response was
Hello ,

Hull is clean with no damage or deep scratches.Engine has been inspected and serviced by Boatsdepot Marina Service. Needs nothing. The price of this boat is $3200 usd includes shipping taxes to your address. The delivery will be made through www.dasautoshippers.com delivery agency. The transaction is very secure for bouths parts, the safest and the only system I trust, we will both benefit of Boatsdepot purchase protection policy. Boatsdepot will insure the payment also.I will need your details full name and (address, zip code, city, phone number).
If you will agree the total price of the purchase i will make the arrangements for title transfer and delivery details. The motor is a 4 stroke

Boatsdepot.org - Information request

Your listing:
http://www.boatsdepot.org/boat.asp?id=6128

that was the first response, here is the second

Dear sir,
I am curently deployed in Iraq, i am a US millitary soldier. The Boatsdepot will handle the transaction for me 100% for me and they act as an escrow company.
Like i said the transaction must be made through Boatsdepot .I have a contract with them and i must respect this.
The boat it's already in the DAS shipping company custody and is ready to be deliver.
Let me explain you how the Boatsdepot process works.
The process works something like this:
First you send the money to Boatsdepot bank account .They will hold and insure your money until receipt of the boat in good condition. Boatsdepot will confirm me that you have made the payment. I will ship the boat so you can Inspect, test and make a decision if you will keep it or not. If you will not get exactly the same boat that you have viewed in the ad, and also a clear title you will receive all your money back from Boatsdepot and you must send the boat back through the same shipping company.
If everything is ok Boatsdepot will get the approval from you to release the funds to me and the transaction will be completed.Though i am sure you will love the boat and will not want to return it, it is good to know that you do have this second option available.
If you want to buy the boat send me your info

Thank you and hope to hear you soon,

went back to boatsdepot and searched for the boat I inquired about and it is no longer listed there.
I also sent a message to a seller that is in Houston and asked if I could come see and hear the boat run, I still have not gotten a reply from him.
The one in Houston is listing a 2008 bay boat with a 4stroke 115 for $5,150.00. I know the motor cost more than that, my buddy bought the same motor in 2009 and paid $10,500.00 for it.

Anyone using Western Union / Money gram to send a deposit the way they ask..(lying about where/reason) deserves it. I will save them half of the money they will loose if they just send it to me.....I will return half and keep the remainder as a stupid fee to them. They can learn the same lesson for 1/2 price!!!!
