i got my twic the other day

This card is such a waste of room in my wallet. sorry if this is a old post but i wanted to know if anyone else has one yet.

Word has it that the current card may have to be replaced with one that has more info... dunno, just what I read .

i wish i had won the contract for that bid, i could have outsourced with some asian country, vtt'ed each applicant, pocket the change and still outperform the branch office i used......i'll never complain of dmv again! piss poor organization and management skills.

won't be long till we see a contract worker go postal or identity theft thru the twic program.

I applied for mine at the St. Rose office. Just a mile or 2 west of the airport. They opened a new office in Laplace a few weeks ago.

i agree highland.. can see it already.. 1.5 million identities possibly breached in the twic program cuz some meathead left his laptop at a gas station..

Do you think a terrorist will be running around with a phony TWICC card?
I am done,finished. I draw the line at getting one more piece of ID.
Anybody else willing to stand up and say the hell with your TWICC card BS?

If you don't get the card....You can kiss your License goodbye!!! Then you have to start from scratch and get the TWIC anyways......My Master Lic. means too much to me....Idon't like it, but I'm getting mine..!!

I seem to remember on thier site it is around the middle of Sept. '08.

They will be in place in September. So if you want to go to a ship yard or any commercial port you will need a twic card to walk around unescorted. It’s only useful if you’re in the commercial shipping trade. There is no information written on the card except for an expiration date. There’s a picture bar code and a magnetic strip. It does have some cool holographic on it though.I heard that they were going to terminate the cards due security breaches so my 150 dollars when to waste.

Captjoe,what makes you think someone will take away your license if you do not have a TWIC?
Please state some reference that states this is so.
I have googled around and have not found anything concerning a penalty if you do not have a TWIC card.

I read that they have turned down 13 people so far, out of how many 100s of thousands. I'll bet it was charges that had nothing to do with a terrorism threat. At $135 apiece and a couple million cards someone is making a lot of money out of this.

I think the total implementation date has been bumped to April 2009
