Default Wellcraft 290 Coastal OR Proline 32 Express

Hi i am about to close a deal in a 2009 Wellcraft Coastal with 275 Mercury Verados or a 2007 Proline Express 32 with Suzukis 300's (2008 BRAND NEW ENGINES)

Which you think is a better boat , Family oriented, good for cuising, good for fishing, and can handle the rough seas ,

also space oriented,

I would think the Proline would be a better quality boat, and I have heard nice things about the zukes. As far as the cruising, the wellcraft may offer a bit more creature comfort, but the proline would be better in the seas, fishing category. Give and take really, but the quality would go to proline I think... IMHO.

Check out these pics of the 2007/08 PL 32 Express' hull to deck joint that a member posted here not too long ago. They are simply screwed together with no backing plate, a very cheap way to do it.

I have an Aquasport 235 cc ( Wellcraft/Hydrasport by another name... Chev / Olds / Pontiiac) and a Pro-Line 251 walk. The Aquasport is a little better constructed and wiring is superior. Hull design is close but neither is great .
Proline , however has a great design and styling . Aquasport is good, but did not have the ergonomic engineers and stylists pouring over it. Pro-Line must have. Glass is better laid in Aquasport.
I would give the Proline a B- overall in the boat world, and the Aquasport a B. They (Wellcraft since Aquasport is gone ) are both excellent new values that will depreciate hard. Buy used if you can.
If the price is the same for your 2 boats and you want to buy new , I would go Pro-Line.
Bigger, more non-supercharged power and better looking...although slightly less well made.
You are a lucky man either way.
