Default Need Some Good info.

Also posted on electroncis, Looking to buy gps/sonar unit. Which is the best? Garmin or Lowrance. User friendly with the best pre-loaded maps. Hope this is'nt ford or chev. kind of queston.

There are lots of good quality brands to choose from. You should really get some hands on with several
of these units and come up with a budget and see which ones you like the best.

And yes, sometimes these are Ford-Chevy questions and answers.


I have the Lowrance LCX 26 CHD and LCX25 C the mapping in the 26 hard drive is very good, but the 25
is very limited. Both units have worked well for me for three years now, but haven't really compared these
to the other brands.

The word is that Garmin is more user friendly according to my customers. Lowrance had some issues with their units---combo GPS/Depth, and really did not step up to the plate very well when confronted by disappointed people from what I've heard.
