Default Perko Halogen Underwater Lights

I am wanting to install underwater lights on my 42' Bertram, and like the name and cost of the Perko brand. Does anyone have experience with the Perko lights?

Thanks

I am getting ready to order these - does anyone have any advice or experience with the Perko lights in this kind of application? Thank you.

I don't think you'd be happy with them on a boat that size.
Do a search here, tons of discussion on UW lights.
Of course the cost is attractive. There's a reason why some lights cost $750-$1500 ea., and some-like the Perko- cost a couple hundred.
You get what you pay for.

The proplem with Halogen lights is they get hot very hot . that is fine when they are under water but if you install them in the transome you have turn them off when you get on plane or the could get so hot the could damage the f-glass around them .
I bought two sets ( not perko) and after reading they install notes about having them turned on out of the water I am not sure if I am going to use them . they are very well made but the heat factor scares me.

I installed the perko lights on my Pursuit 3000 Offshore They were not that bright and I was disappointed with them .I would advise you to go with a higher end LED or use the Hydro glo light
