Default Judge 22cc

In a recent post someone made mention of the Judge 22 for fishing and crabbing the Chesapeake and its tributaries. Dose anyone have any experience with the Judge 22cc? How dose it handle the Chesapeake? What kind of gas mileage do you get? Any info would be great. Thanks

I cannot say that I have been on the 22 but my father has the 27 and I am have my boat listed for sale to have a 27 built. Judges are very fuel efficient with their "warped hull design" This means that they have a sharp entry and shallower transom deadrise. This not only provides economy but also a good blend of ride and stability and a nice shallow draft for getting into the skinny water. It also means that you need less power to push the boat adequately. Judge also builds all their boats using top shelf materials like nida-core and divinycell. They are boats that tend to hold their value very well and will last a life time. I also like that you deal directly with the factory. The people over at Judge have been very good to both my father and me. Good luck.

I think the look pretty nice.

Take one for a ride on a normal Chesapeake day - 1 to 2 foot chop. And take a few of it's competitors out. Let us know the results.

the 27 hull is built by eastern and judge finishes them. i have a 27 eastern c/c with twin 150 e-tecs
the boat runs and rides very well. i use it at cape cod where the afternoon chop gets very ugly. she hits
hard now and then but for the most part it is great. very fast with the e-tecs. 35 cruise and 54 wot. she
burns about 14 gph at cruise.

Not true anymore. Bill Judge has his own molds. The hulls may be similar at this point but the New Judges are 8'10" beam vs the eastern 8'4"beam. I think Judge reworked the chines, etc too. Judge had a plant fire several years ago and lost much of his old stuff. Like I said they may be similar but Judge but he is running his own molds now.

See descriptions here:
http://www.judgeyachts.com/27chesape...e_inboard.html

http://www.judgeyachts.com/27chesape..._outboard.html

As you can see, he is also using all top shelf composite materials for his constuction, like nida-core, as well

Always liked this boat and the 27 as well. Was at the Judge open house a couple of weeks ago. They are building lots of boats (had several in progress) , doing a good job, nice lamination, good finish on the more striaght-forward boats. Nice boats, fair value, and the word is getting out.

Did you look at the ones on the Judge web site? There is a used one on there that looks like a nice boat. Sure they would be happy to demo it for you.

I could be missing something but I swear when I went to the link it said

"The 27' Chesapeake is one of our best-selling models. Redesigned in 1999 and updated in 2005 to a 8'10" beam".
