I have an 2002 F-150, 4x4 with FX4 package - 94k miles. Love it!

I think the 5.7L powered dodge is a top tier while the ford is a mid tier.
the ford is underpowerd but the dodge will rattle your teeth. fit/finish is about the same. Both will ride a little wet if its raining and the windows are down.

I know nothing about Dodges. I have a 4x4 F150 and I love it. Now that may have something to do with my company paying the bill for it, but it pulls my 20' Pioneer and I cannot even feel the boat on the back accelerating and braking. I am actually worried one of these days I am going to forget it is on the back and change lanes into someone on the interstate! I had always had GMCs and this is my first Ford but I definitely like it. I would encourage anyone to buy one. It DOES guzzle gas of course though.
The only experience I have ever had with Dodge is that my mom had the older style Durango and I didn't like it at all. I didn't think it drove worth a crap, in addition to the interior being rather spartan.
Rams are awesome looking trucks though, just don't know anything about them. Go drive both of them.
I have a F150 '05 4X4 crew. I have the larger motor, 5.4?? I don't think it is at all underpowered. It tows great! I like the solid feel of the Ford, the amenities of the GMC, and price of the Dodge. Having said all that I have some friends with Dodges and all of them are happy with the way they tow.
I know a lot of loyal Ford owners....one who currentlyowns 5 ford trucks. They all have minor to major problems...one of which (2005 explorer sport trac) was bought back from the factory cause it was on its 3rd major repair in 5000 miles and 1 year, and the replacemnet vehicle (2006 4.6 F150 SC) needed a new fuel delivery system, including computer and pump at 126 miles. Now with the Dodge experiance....despite thier repuation which should be gone by now My dads 2002 Dakota 3.9 with 140,000 has been nearly trouble free. Not a single day out of service yet. Problems: AC cooling unit not compressor....$800 and a new headliner...$80. Cousin....2005 Ram 1500 QC 2WD HEMI....60,000 hard miles not an issue runs and drives like new. Neighbor....2003 Ram 1500 4X4 QC HEMI. Put over 100,000 miles on it in 3 years towing boats just about everyday and no problems. Another friend....identical truck as neighbor. 150,000 miles also towing boats everyday. Only minor issues. Best Freind....2005 Ram 1500 QC HEMI...50,000 miles. If the grills and interiors werent different on the new ones you wouldnt know it was an 05. Looks, drives, runs, and shows like showroom condition. Best Friends dad....2003 durango 4.7.. not sure on milage. Not the slightest problem to date. Friends dad...2005 ram 3500 QC dually cummins. 200,000 miles. replaced a transmission control mod. As you can see dodges poor rep should be left behind. I know nothing but great dodge vehicles
screw ford i have one and it sucks its underpowerd and im constantly having problems. for this reason im selling mine. get a chevy.
Let me guess, you thought you would save a few bucks and bought one with a 4.6...

Drive both and you will definitely see the difference. The Ford has a much more solid feel to it, is more stable, and brakes better than the Dodge. In regards of capability, it is hard to beat the Ford IMO. As far as reliability goes, neither has a stellar record. If you want reliability, look at a Tundra Tundra.
