Default Southport 28CC vs 28TE

Ok, I have looked at the website and cannot tell what the differences are between these two models. Can some explain the differences?

Thanks

Ed

The 28TE has a tackle station built into the aft portion of the leaning post with a livewell, sink, and lots of tackle storage drawers and plano boxes etc. The CC has the rear facing seat with a livewell underneath. The TE also comes with rocketlaunchers on the transom and a few extra rodholders.

For one, the TE has a tackle center, bait prep, and higher livewell integrated into the seat. The regular CC has a lower livewell located underneath a rear facing seat. It does not have the droors for tackle storage. I kind of like the regular old CC because you can sit in the rear facing seat and watch the baits while trolling.

Yep, MSSound is right on. Go on the Southport website and click on products. Then scroll down and compare the leanpost sections. The original 28CC like mine did not have all the tackle station goodies. Southport responded to customers feedback/requests for a tackle station similar to Regulators, and they actually improved upon it in my opinion.

If I had it to order again, I'd be tempted to go with the TE, but my crew would probably throw me overboard for doing away with the rear facing seat, as they can comfortably watch the baits while trolling.

I own a 28TE myself. Cobraarvey is correct about the substantive differences. You can really pack in the tackle on the TE.

The CC rear facing seats are OK for a short while, but the position of the helm seat back makes an adult need to lean forward when seated. I find the wide gunnels end up being the preferred seat for the crew member doing spread watcher duty.

my dream boat.
Was my dream boat too until I saw Southport's wiring job on a 26 displayed at the boat show. Now I'm not so sure.
