Default Does it make sense to put new plugs in boat at time of winterization?

With my two stroke I would run a tank or two gas in the spring before swapping out the plugs-
makes sense-fogging oil is burned off and old gas is run out of the tanks
then put new plugs

My yard-put new plugs in twin F150's this fall?
Will they be gummed up when run her in the spring?
why do they do this 8 plugs @ $95?

Thanks for your comments

In a perfect world you should keep the old plugs in so when you burn off the fogging oil it does not gum up your plugs. But it's likely you did not need new plugs in the first place. I tend to use the same plugs for many hours on my 4 strokes. How many times do you change the plugs on your mower, car, ATV or snowblower?

Its crazy what so called marine stuff sells for. I had a boat with a Volvo IB and went to purchase a new timing belt which was like $70. I took that belt to the auto parts store and with their book looking up 4cyl Volvo cars we matched it up. We looked at these belts every way we could and they both were made by the same manufacturer. The only difference we could find between the two is that one said marine. The auto store sold me this timing belt for $16 v/s the $70 from a marine store.

Yehhh, thats what I thought . I pay like two bucks apiec for the plugs for my Suzuki at an autoparts store. Change them every year on everything I own. Nothing can improve performance and relaiability as cheap as a fresh set of plugs.

I was assuming his $95 was for the plugs installed. With labor @ 70-90 per hour, that would seem about right or a little low. If he paid 95 for eight plugs, carry out, different story.

I burn off my fogging oil (a couple hours on the water) then put in new plugs for the season. I get mine from an autoparts store too. Half the price of the boat stores.

In the spring, I burn off the fogging oil before I replace plugs.
