Working on a deal for a boat with a 225 ETEC.
Motor is a 2005, but never used. Thought this
was going to be the way to go, but had a guy today tell me that over the lon haul, the ETEC
will suffer from some of the powerhead or lower unit issue that the traditional 2 stroked did.
I don't believe that anyone ever said you have to like Evinrude. The thing I don't get is how someone gets off by bashing a product... Seriously man find something productive to do with yourself.
So to answer the posters question "looking for etec horror stories" with posts that are already on THT qualifies as bashing ?? Obviously only to an e-tec owner but then again the truth has always bothered you about your precious engines.
The more personal attacks you make the more I will post FACTS and let readers decide for themselves what to buy.
Yes it is bashing when all you do on a forum is post negative things about a single brand. Yes it is bashing when you conduct yourself in the way you do. If you have actual experience with it yourself that would be fine. Seaching in net for negative comments to post here is bashing.
Anything mechnical device, electrical device, computer, can and will fail at some time. This even applies to Evinrude, Yamaha, Mercury, and so on. Today there is no such thing as a poorly made motor. Sure some of each brand will have some motors fail before it's time but thati s what happens when parts are made at high production.
My precious engines? I have not brand loyality... I buy a product when it's performance impresses me, that is why I own 2 Strokes. If Yamaha made a performance engine that I liked I would buy it. Same goes for Honda, Suzi, etc.

I do NOT need your permission to answer the original posters question. If you don't like the answer thats your problem. If I had posted a quote from someone who liked his e-tecs you'd have no problem with that. So once again you are "offended" simply because you don't agree with what the person I quoted said. I could care less what your opinion is or what you think of me.
Self esteem issues ? Try smart enough to see through the biased game you e-tec owners and dealers play here. Readers can decide what engine is right for them based on the FACTS, thats why 4S's dominiate the market in offshore boats.
But most of all - THANK YOU for the opportunity to post these FACTS once again for all to see. You just can't keep from falling for it everytime.

And stop lying for once, you had NO choice but to repower that old POS because your RE taxes and wind insurance on your house got way too expensive for you and you had to find a way to save some money - so you kept the old POS and repowered it with USED e-tecs. Besides your boat was built for 2S's and its transom isn't strong enough to support a 4S either.

This F*ckin guy is def the king of the supreme beings. He is better then everyone else of course and everything and anything he has is better then what you have. Wow I am jealous of course. No matter what you say this guy is going to come up with something ridiculous to say but its quite entertaining. I am being kept pretty well entertained by this clown. The fact that he is involved with the marine industry is scary.
It is believed by more than one person on this site that his father owns the dealership linked below. Of course he will not admit it because if its true he will hurt dads buisness.
