Default How to save money on fuel....

Well, it's gotten to the point where it's actually cheaper to burn dollar bills in my boat then buy diesel. So today, I took the diesels out and installed a steam engine. I will fire the boiler on the steam engine by burning dollar bills. I figure, since the value of the dollar is going down, pretty soon I'll be able to run my boat for free....

If you use $5 bills, you can use a smaller wheel barrow to get them to the dock. No need to thank me, I'm an idea guy.

Zimbabwe dollars would be significantly cheaper to burn. The current "official" exchange rate is about 30,000 ZWD to the USD, in practice it's more like a million to the USD with inflation going at about 1500% a month. Oh and life expectancy is about 39.4 years there.

No matter how bad you think it is here, it's always way worse somewhere else.

Go to costco and buy vegtable oil . . . pour it in your tank. It's cheaper than the pump.

How much? I got my heating fuel deliverred this morning. Just under 200 gallons @ $3.399. Guess where my rebate is going?

It could be worse though, I coverred most of my window surfaces with insulation panels and stretched the tank about a month longr than last year.

Don't forget when switching over to dollars, you'll need to check your WOT and re-prop.

I'm buying a diesel powered boat. This will be my first time buying fuel at a marina. I can't wait to find out the price. The marinas around here won't give out prices on the radio.

At least I'll get a 10 cent BoatUS discount.

It actually amazes me how many people respond to postings like this without ever reading the original post. I posted this as a joke, and some guys respond like it's a real post with advice like "slow down", "stop driving", etc.... You guys need to lighten up and have a laugh, life is too short to take it seriously
