Default VOLVO Trim Tabs

Does any one have any information on this type of trim tab .How well they work (performance) etc. Thinking about having them installed on my boat. 23 foot Proline.

That's a not altogether kind reply, especially when posted in spaced caps, unless you know that there was something out there that the poster missed.

I have no interest in Volvo Trim tabs, but I did a search of all the forums for the words "Volvo trim tabs"

The response was "No match found"

The search function seems a bit unstable. Here are a few of the previous threads on this topic:

http://www.thehulltruth.com/forums/t...asp?tid=187329

http://www.thehulltruth.com/forums/t...asp?tid=183592

http://www.thehulltruth.com/forums/t...asp?tid=179352

All in all, you'll find many that have become ardent converts and supporters of these Volvo QL Interceptor tabs, while others will still swear by their regular tabs, especially Bennetts or Lencos.

Hope this helps.

Reel, the QL tabs were factory installed on my Pro-Line 23 Sport (2008) and am very happy with their performance. I use them frequently for side-to-side leveling, although I find on this hull (not sure if yours is new or an older 23?) I only occasionally use them to bring the bow down.

Thanks Flot for your comment.

I have a 2007 proline 23 sport .Not to many places to puttrim tabs. Although, The Proline dealer in Melbourne does not recommend them .He said Proline has moved to Lenco with a modified tab . (Shortened) I believe the QL will work fine .Don't like tabssticking out .Proline dealer says people are having problems with the QL tab reacting too quick. That's strange. I like the QL tabs a lot, and the control system is very easy to use. Plus since I'm a diver, I didn't want anything sticking out from the back of the hull to whack my legs on when re-boarding.

Not sure who wouldn't want tabs that work quickly. LOL The control unit has 4 buttons and 8 LEDs on each side to indicate how far each tab has deployed. You adjust them with a single button tap in 1/2 step increments and they work great. Definitely not the same as traditional tabs where you press down for a second and then wait 5 seconds for the reactio.

If you need help with positioning them, I'd be happy to take some photos/measurements for you on my hull and then you can put them on just where the factory would have.

I've always had bennets on my previous boats. I had QLs fitted to my new boat and I will never go back to any other make. They are simple to use, efficient and best of all there is nothing hanging out the back for a very clean transom.

I have a set of 450's on my 14,000lb Aluminum boat, they are great.

I mounted the controls on the right side of my dash which it is easy to handle.

just don't over tighten them until the 5200 set for a couble of days , test them for a couple of days before going in the water. Also make sure that you mount them so they are right to the edge of the bottom, do not move then up from the bottom, the tab that comes down only travels and inch or so. Marty
