As one on this forum who had some [perhaps] uninformed negative comments about alloy boats in the past, including the sardine can look, I gotta say this boat looks awesome. How she will ride will be the real test. Best of luck

I was in a special class at school - must not have been the "gifetd" class.

I liked the short bus we had, though...

I've already ordered the metal for both of your boats Manny and George along with a hull for Greg Manning - sort of the assumptive close method.

Makes sales so much easier than waiting for a boat to be ordered. I'll just drop the boat in your dooryard with an invoice! (I'm sure the wives won't mind...)

LOL Jay The "Dooryard" gives you away !!

Deadrise will be 24 - that drawing was shallower.

Dooryard.... I was getting directions one time here in Maine from a guy selling a snowmobile trailer:

"Go to the end of the paved road then keep going about two miles - take a left on the road without a sign - go about a mile. You'll see a trailer with shit in the yard. That ain't it. We're the next trailer with a deer hanging in the dooryard"

Have to love Maine.

I, like a previous poster am very curious of any advantages to paint on these aluminum hulls. They are beautiful and would look great bare as well. It just seems like painting them has quite a bit of risk associated.

Does anybody know what the pre-treatment, primer and paint process is?

Now we are talkin' Sweet looking boat. What kind of bottom paint would one use on an alloy boat that would be wet slipped for over 9 months each year?

I can tell ya this , that hull might just be painted because the guy buying it , Wanted it painted.

Now I do know FOR A FACT that Jay will do what ever the Customer wants , Paint , No Paint.

The Gray sides are not painted on that hull , just the bottom paint and insides.

Personally , I like bare ALLOY and wait a couple weeks till she is ALL RIGGED out and see how the colors come together, YEA BABY, Bring it on .

Like Welder said - its up to the customer.

The paint does nothing for the boat other than aesthetic improvement.

A painted Alloy boat:

and one unpainted!
