Nice looking boat, why paint it though doesn't that defeat one the main advantages of an aluminum boat, not having to worry about scratching it up?
We only painted the interior and put the prep on for anti-fouling - the sides are "peened" by blasting with glass beads and walnut shells. The interior was done to give a more finished appearance but we can do boats from commercial grade (no coatings) to yacht quality finish and anything in between.
Great question - the answer is whatever the customer wants!

Capt George . I'll take charter #1 when you get yours or Jay loans it to you for testing.
look forward to seeing you in April for the cod bite
Manny--hitting Cashes in under 2 hours and Stellwagen in 10 minutes sure would be sweet!
I've already ordered the metal for both of your boats Manny and George along with a hull for Greg Manning - sort of the assumptive close method.
Makes sales so much easier than waiting for a boat to be ordered. I'll just drop the boat in your dooryard with an invoice! (I'm sure the wives won't mind...)

I really like the chine and lifting strakes on the Rocksalt hull. As much as I have admired Pacific skiffs, I always
thought they could be improved with these two additions.

As long as I can pay you with a check from the checking account that I closed last week not a problem - make mine and Greg's a cat
Manny
The inboard/IPS would be cool. Wonder if you could have the engines under your feet. Have an elevated console, increased visability.
I like the elevated console/helm a lot but many customers don't like any change in elevation on the deck (tripping hazard). Last I knew the IPS drives could be pretty far from the drives enabling your idea.
PS - Good job with the Edgewater. Peter Truslow the president of Edgewater is one of my high school classmates and one of the finest people I know. Great boats. Great boat company. You have good taste.

Maybe, but I can't picture her pumping the bowl out.
PS - isn't that 66 Landrover aluminum alloy?
The body panels are aluminum, but there's plenty of steel bits that rust like crazy. It will soon be getting the full body-off restoration treatment, along with a new galvanized frame.

Depending upon level of finish, power, options, electronics and trailer the boat could be as low as 200k and as high as 300K. The boat pictured should end up right at $250K. Includes Raymmarine E120, 4KW high-def radar, bait prep station, (2) livewells (50&30 gallon), head/sink, coffin box, Trailer, More....

I had an old girlfriend that needed a body-off restoration...

If you make it look good it will sell. One obsevation with aluminium prices droping by the second. i.e alcoa cant sell enough of it an is now laying off thousands of people. will the price on the boat also come down?

Maybe a bit but the cost of the raw materials (1/4" 5083 Alloy) usually only represents about 10%-15% of the final boat price so if aluminum goes down 20% and we pass along the savings the end-user is only looking at a 3% price drop.

Being in manufacturing I'd have to guess that the cost of the raw materials is a small part of the cost but that's just my opinion........
